U.S. Representative Ron Estes, chairman of the House Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee and representative for Kansas’ 4th district, recently shared updates on legislative efforts and local industry visits through a series of social media posts.
On August 14, Estes highlighted the anniversary of Social Security and legislative changes affecting seniors: "As Chairman of @WaysandMeansGOP Social Security Subcommittee, I’ve worked to protect & strengthen Social Security. The 90th anniversary of Social Security, w/ the implementation of the One Big, Beautiful Bill, will free seniors from unfair taxes on their hard-earned benefits."
A day later, Estes discussed his visit to a Wichita-based manufacturing company: "Great to visit @OpenRoadBrands earlier this week and see how they manufacture signs, wall art and other decor right here in Wichita. We talked about the importance and benefits of policies that encourage American-made manufacturing." The mention reflects ongoing conversations about supporting domestic production.
On August 15, Estes also commented on federal agricultural policy developments: "Today's news from @USDA on continued efforts to address the New World Screwworm is welcome news for cattle ranchers across the nation — including ones in Kansas. Thank you @SecRollins for prioritizing this issue & preventing damage to the livestock industry."
Ron Estes has represented Kansas’s 4th congressional district since 2017 after succeeding Mike Pompeo. He was born in Topeka in 1956 and currently resides in Wichita. Estes holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University.
