Today, Representative Ron Estes praised the Environmental Protection Agency's decision to grant a nationwide waiver for the sale of E15 gasoline as summer approaches.
"Allowing the sale of E15 year-round and nationwide is a win for Kansas ethanol producers and drivers across the country," Rep. Estes commented, highlighting the benefits for local producers and consumers alike. He added that this move is "a great step forward in restoring American energy dominance," asserting that Kansas farmers are well-positioned to support this transition. Estes also expressed his backing for the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act, emphasizing its potential to provide stability for farmers, drivers, and producers by ensuring E15 availability throughout the year. He framed this development as part of a broader Republican strategy to achieve energy independence and bolster U.S. energy production.
The EPA, in their announcement, stated, "This emergency action will provide families with relief at the pump by increasing fuel supply and ensuring a variety of gasoline fuel blends from which consumers can choose." The agency further noted that expanding options at the pump will reduce dependence on foreign fossil fuels, bolster U.S. energy independence, and simultaneously support American agriculture and manufacturing.
