Cost of college went up for all students at Friends University

Tuition and fees rose 3.1 percent for 2018-19 at Friends University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Kansas students paid $28,415 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $850 more than the $27,565 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 174 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.3 million and 125 students took out student loans totaling more than $936,037.

Including all undergraduates (1,926), 1,021 students used grants or scholarships totaling $13.7 million, and 770 students took out $6 million in federal student loans.
