Rep. Ron Estes of Kansas has announced his membership in the Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus, a newly established group aimed at addressing government inefficiencies. The caucus was initiated by Representatives Aaron Bean from Florida and Pete Sessions from Texas. It aims to support President-elect Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, focusing on reducing bureaucracy, eliminating excessive regulations, cutting unnecessary spending, and restructuring federal agencies.
Rep. Estes expressed his concerns about the national debt, which he stated is now over $36 trillion. "Our national debt is now soaring at more than $36 trillion dollars, and we need to use every tool at our disposal to rein in wasteful spending and be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars," said Rep. Estes. He emphasized that the government should serve the people effectively rather than hinder them financially.
Throughout his tenure in Congress, Rep. Estes has focused on controlling federal expenditure and curbing bureaucratic expansion in Washington. He advocates for balanced budget amendments to the U.S. Constitution and previously proposed an amendment to reduce non-defense spending by 1%.
