U.S. Senator Jerry Moran, a Republican from Kansas and the ranking member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, has commented on President Donald Trump's recent nomination. Former Congressman Doug Collins has been nominated to serve as the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Senator Moran expressed his support for Collins, stating, "Congratulations to Congressman Doug Collins on his nomination to be the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs." Moran highlighted Collins' experience as a U.S. Air Force Reserve chaplain after 9/11, where he served for over two decades and was deployed to Iraq. He also noted Collins' tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Georgia and his understanding of policies affecting veterans.

Moran further remarked on Trump's choice by saying, "President Trump nominated a candidate who has demonstrated his dedication to public service and a willingness to support veterans and their families." The Senator anticipates hearing from Collins during his testimony before the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
