Today, Representative Ron Estes of Kansas cast his vote in favor of three legislative acts: the End the Border Catastrophe Act, the Indo-Pacific Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, and the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act. He opposed the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act.
Rep. Estes explained his voting decisions by stating, "When the country is more than $34.5 trillion in debt and bad actors threaten the United States' border and our allies across the globe, it's imperative that we make strategic spending choices and respect taxpayer dollars." He emphasized his focus on issues such as securing the southern border, supporting Israel, and countering China's influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
He expressed his concerns about excessive spending on Ukraine aid. "Some of the most pressing issues facing our nation include securing our southern border, supporting our strongest Middle Eastern ally Israel and countering the Chinese Communist Party in the Indo-Pacific region – today I voted for three critical bills that address these threats," said Rep. Estes. He added, "I've previously voted for Russian sanctions as Ukraine faces unprovoked aggression from a tyrant, but the $60.8 billion bill that the House passed today was too much for me to support when the United States has already spent more than $100 billion on Ukraine aid."
