U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (Kan.), ranking member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, addressed the Senate floor today regarding restrictions imposed by the Biden administration on veterans' access to care. Sen. Moran urged the administration to reconsider and lift these restrictions, which affect both community care and VA medical facilities.
“Often it’s the distance that causes a veteran to choose if he or she needs to seek care in the community, but sometimes it is the expertise and specialty,” said Sen. Moran. “However, in all instances the Department of Veterans Affairs is making it harder for veterans to get the care they are entitled to under the law, in the community. Under President Biden’s administration, community care has come under attack and veterans, many of them, are paying the price.”
Sen. Moran's remarks reflect ongoing concerns about accessibility and quality of healthcare for veterans under current policies.
