Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) has been honored with the Fiscal Hero award by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget for his dedication to fiscal responsibility. Speaking about the national debt and economic challenges, Rep. Estes emphasized the need to control spending and improve the nation's fiscal health. He stated, "The Washington impulse to spend uncontrollably needs to be reined in if we're going to change course and improve our nation's fiscal health. I'm honored to be counted among the Fiscal Heroes of the 118th Congress."

Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, commended Rep. Estes for his commitment to prioritizing fiscal health and sustainability. She recognized him as a leader of the Bipartisan Fiscal Forum and praised his efforts in steering the nation towards a better fiscal future. MacGuineas stated, "Fiscal responsibility is a stewardship, not only for Americans today but for future generations."

Rep. Estes' advocacy for fiscal discipline is evident through his legislative actions, including cosponsoring a balanced budget amendment and introducing measures to cut non-defense spending. He played a key role in launching the Bipartisan Fiscal Forum and was appointed to the Budget Committee’s Oversight Task Force. In February, he helped introduce the Business Cycle Balanced Budget Amendment to address out-of-control spending.

In addition to his legislative work, Rep. Estes is vocal about fiscal issues through his writings. He has criticized budget proposals and highlighted the dangers of America's fiscal challenges in publications like National Review and Fox News.

The recognition of Rep. Estes as a Fiscal Hero reflects his ongoing efforts to address the nation's fiscal challenges and advocate for responsible spending practices.
