Rep. Ron Estes, who represents Kansas’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on social media regarding his role as Chairman of the Social Security Subcommittee and recent developments affecting Americans in Washington, D.C.

On September 9, 2025, Estes announced his leadership in a subcommittee hearing focused on employment challenges for Americans with disabilities or those receiving supplemental income. He wrote, "I'll be chairing a Social Security Subcommittee hearing at @WaysandMeansGOP today on examining roadblocks facing Americans who want to work, especially those with disabilities or on supplemental income." He invited the public to tune in to the hearing scheduled for 2 PM that day.

Later that evening, Estes commented on national news from the White House press secretary. On September 9, he posted, "The news from @PressSec today is positive for all Americans living in our nation's capital and the ones who want to visit." He added, "Washington, D.C., should be an exemplary capital that's safe and secure for visitors from across the nation and the globe."

Following up on his earlier announcement about the subcommittee hearing, Estes provided a summary of its outcome later that night. On September 9 he stated, "Today, as Chairman of the Social Security Subcommittee on @WaysandMeansGOP, I oversaw a productive hearing regarding Americans who are on a supplemental income but want to pursue a career and the roadblocks they face."

Ron Estes has served in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Mike Pompeo as representative of Kansas’s 4th district. Born in Topeka in 1956 and currently residing in Wichita, Estes holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University.
