Rep. Ron Estes, a U.S. Congressman representing Kansas’ 4th district since 2017, recently shared updates on his official activities and policy concerns through a series of posts on September 8, 2025.
In one post dated September 8, 2025, Estes recounted a visit to McConnell Air Force Base: "At McConnell Air Force Base on Friday, I spent time with Col. Wall and Chief Master Sergeant Markiesha Crawford to learn about priorities for the base and ongoing projects. It was a joy to meet the KC-46 and KC-135 crews and even go inside the KC-135. Thank you for having me."
Later that day, Estes addressed safety in Washington, D.C., particularly as it relates to young people visiting or working in the capital: "As a parent, I understand the concerns around sending a child to Washington, D.C. Ensuring our capital is safe for its residents and visitors is essential. Interns like Eric should be able to come to Washington, D.C., and feel safe being there."
In another statement from September 8, 2025, Estes commented on issues related to federal nutrition assistance programs: "Allowing SNAP funds to be mishandled is irresponsible & hurts Kansans who need the program. @RepMann and I sent a letter to @GovLauraKelly to correct the mistake of sending SNAP funds to ineligible people and work with @USDA on strengthening SNAP."
Estes has served as Kansas’s representative in Congress since replacing Mike Pompeo in 2017. He was born in Topeka in 1956 and currently resides in Wichita. Estes holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University.
