Finalists Chosen for Chamber's 2023 Small Business Awards

Six finalists have made it to the next round of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce 2023 Small Business Awards. Finalists were announced at the Small Business Awards Applicant Showcase at Newman University March 8. Fourteen local businesses applied for the 2023 Small Business Awards.

Judges evaluated applicants based on five key areas: leadership and performance, employee relations, entrepreneurship, community involvement and diversity, equity and inclusion. Judges will make site visits to each finalist business as part of the final selection process.

Award finalists are divided into tiers based upon number of full-time equivalent (FTE) employees.

Tier One (1-5 FTEs)

1.   Bicycle Pedaler

2.    Forman Law LLC

3.   The Hive

Tier Two (6-20 FTEs)

1.    Cheri's Bakery LLC

2.   Humlicek Family Dental

3.   Kansas Aviation Museum

Small businesses are responsible for creating two of every three new jobs in the U.S. and make up almost 90 percent of the Chamber's membership. The Small Business Awards program, which started in 2005, is designed not only to provide small businesses the recognition they deserve but to also give other small businesses a chance to learn from the best.

The Presenting Sponsor of the 2023 Awards program is Shaken or Stirred Bartending, a 2022 Award recipient. The finalists will be featured at the Sunrise Scrambler on April 12. Winners will be announced during the Small Business Awards Lunch on June 1.
