Men's Basketball Duo Receives CSC Academic All-District Nod
Friends University men's basketball sophomore guards Drew Patterson (SO/Charlotte, NC) and Trey Reid (SO/Wichita, Kan. ) have each earned the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District award, the organization announced today (Feb. 21).
Academic All-District winners now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with first-, second and third-team Academic-All-America honorees set to be announced in mid-March.
Drew Patterson
* Battled back from an early season injury to make 17 appearances, with 10 starting assignments
* Top free-throw shooter on the team at nearly 84 percent (31-of-37) from the charity stripe this season
* Earned KCAC All-Freshman honors last year after leading the team in three-point percentage (42.2)
Trey Reid
* A constant in the Falcon rotation at the guard spot in his third season with the program
* Earned All-KCAC honorable-mention honors last year after recording a team-high 2.5 assists
* Was second on the team in scoring last year with 12.4 ppg
* Also successful in the classroom and has earned both NAIA and KCAC Scholar-Athlete honors
