Four Women's Basketball Falcons Earn CSC Academic All-District Award
Four Friends University Women's Basketball student-athletes have earned the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic-All District award, the organization announced today (Feb. 21).
The four selections for the Falcons are the maximum nominations allowed.
Academic All-District winners now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with first-, second and third-team Academic-All-America honorees set to be announced in mid-March.
The Women's Basketball Falcons CSC Academic All-District selections are listed below:
Bridget Busbee (SR/Grand Prairie, Texas)
* A mainstay in the Falcon lineup, has started all 28 games this season
* Second on team in assists (1.9), third in points (8.6 ppg) and tied for first in steals (1.3 spg)
* A solid student-athlete that is both an NAIA and KCAC Scholar-Athlete recipient
Kassie Kinniburgh (JR/Valley Center, Kan.)
* A top inside option, ranks second on the team with 5.7 rebounds this season
* Is both an NAIA and KCAC Scholar-Athlete honoree
* Has recorded double-digit rebounds in three games this season
Gracie Sammons (SR/Aubrey, Texas)
* A four-year letterwinner for the Friends University Women's Basketball program
* Has dished out a team-leading 2.1 assists per game this season
* A solid student-athlete that has received both NAIA and KCAC Scholar-Athlete honors
McKenzie Shippy (SR/Woodbine, Kan. )
* A four-year veteran for the Friends University women's basketball program
* Enjoying a breakout season offensively with a career-high and team-leading 11.3 ppg this season
* Also making an impact defensively by tying for the team lead with 1.3 steals per game
* The epitome of a solid student-athlete, Shippy is both an NAIA and KCAC Scholar-Athlete recipient
