96 percent of applicants to Wichita State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Wichita State University, 72 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 55 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Wichita enrolled 15,778 students in fall 2018, including 13,006 in undergraduate and 2,772 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

79 percent of undergraduates are residents of Kansas, and 20 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (58 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (12 percent).

The school admitted 96 percent of the 5,799 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 31 percent enrolled.
