First Presbyterian Church recently issued the following announcement.
The most significant event of the 150th Anniversary Celebration year will occur on March 15, 2020. The 10:45 worship service will be the signature celebration event of the entire year. Several of the elements of worship will be drawn from previous anniversary services. The choir will be singing 2 special anthems. Many special guests have been invited to attend. Months ago during one of the planning sessions of the Anniversary Committee, one of the members suggested producing a documentary. What a great idea! Too bad we didn’t start on it several months earlier. After some investigation into resources, we were able to secure the services of a professional videographer who produces documentaries for a living. He was quite interested in the project, even though the time frame was a bit tight. We were able to obtain a contract with him and the work began. Underwriting for the project was obtained from Durfee 360, the Kent Durfee Memorial Fund. You may have seen someone at Heritage Sunday and Christmas Eve taking pictures. Recently he interviewed many people from the church, from small children to longtime members. He acquired many photos from the church archives and drew heavily from the church history, This is Who We Are. The premiere of this work will occur during the 10:45 worship service on March 15, 2020. You do not want to miss this event! This will be an excellent time to invite your friends to attend First Presbyterian Church.
